WD40 is not a lubricant, it's a solvent. if you have a lubricant, say, on a bike chain. if u use WD40 it will remove that lubricant. it seems smoother due to the build up of dirt in that lubricant that u just removed. not trying to be a troll i just want people to be informed. i just want to clarify a misconception that i think can really help people out a lot in many aspects of home repair.
