Stationary cycling is one of the most effective low-impact aerobic exercises for increasing your metabolism for more efficient calorie and fat burning without the impact on your joints. Choose your own workout intensity with the 8-step adjustable tension control, or use one of the the 6 preset programs: Fat Burn, Maximum Fat Burn, Aerobic, Hill, Interval, or Mountain. The electronic, battery-operated monitor lets you know when you are working within your target heart rate zone, and keeps you motivated during your workout by displaying speed, distance, time, and calories burned. The aero handlebars have built-in pulse sensors take your pulse. The oversized, molded seat is padded and adjustable to fit any size rider. Because it is an impact-free activity, stationery cycling can be a lifelong form of exercise. For effective aerobic exercise, work within your target heart rate zone (70% to 85% of your maximum heart rate). more info

Great bike for the price
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this bike about one month ago, and I am very pleased with it. I had my boyfriend assemble the bike for me, so I can’t really comment on whether or not it was difficult to put together. I can see how the bike would be difficult to use for people who are shorter. I’m 5’9″ and I had to put the seat down to one of the lowest notches in order to use it comfortably. The only thing that I didn’t like about the bike was that the seat was uncomfortable for the first couple uses. Thankfully, it only took a couple hours of riding to break in the seat.
Overall, it is a very smooth and quiet ride. It’s also very sturdy. That, along with the preset programs and various resistances, gives you a great workout. Of course, there are better bikes out there, but this bike does a great job and can’t be beat for the price.

Better than expected!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I actually bought this through GNC’s website after finding it on Amazon. I wasn’t sure what to expect after some of the reviews here, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I’ve been wanting a stationary bike for awhile, as biking is the only activity I can do since having foot surgery last year. This bike seems like a good way to regain the muscle tone in my legs.
It did take awhile for us to put together- probably about 45 minutes. You’ll definately need two people for certain parts.
The bike is very comfortable to use. The seat is large and well cushioned, comfortable to sit on for awhile. It can be adjusted to a good range of heights. I’m 5’9″ and there were several pegs above and below my setting. I’m still getting used to actually getting on the bike, but I wouldn’t recommend this model for anyone with a hard time climbing over objects. The base rises about 2 feet off the ground, so the recumbant model might be better for anyone with an injury or problems lifting their legs.
The technology is great too. I’ve never used anything beyond a basic fan bike before so I was really excited about the 6 different programs they offer along with the 8 tension settings. I’ve only played with a few of the programs but there seems to be a good variety of challenges. My favorite part has been watching my progress on the panel. It shows your speed, distance travelled, calories burned, time left, and heart rate. This is really helpful to motivate me to reach the end of my workout and stay within my target heart rate.
I would definately recommend this bike. For the price it’s very high quality and the features are really nice. It’s a quiet bike, not too heavy when assembled, and it’s very quiet.

Pleasantly surprised

I bought this bike to rehab from knee surgery. At this price point I was willing to take a chance and buy it sight unseen. It works as advertised and I’ve incorporated it into my daily exercise routine.
The bike is quiet when in use; I’ve used wind trainers before that sound like cyclones compared to this bike. I don’t have to crank the TV to hear it while pedaling. The tensioner has 8 levels and provides a good spectrum of wheel resistance. The electronics controlling the 6 exercise programs, timer, calories burned, distance traveled, and pulse all work well.
The only minor negatives:
1. The setup instructions were clear but hooking up the tensioner was unnecessarily difficult. Took 20 minutes and a lot of sweat.
2. The stabilizer bars (front and back) are just a tad short, so there is a slight side-to-side movement as you pedal. Nothing serious.
3. As you exercise, the LCD readout cycles through all the stats…would be nice to be able to select what data you monitor.
Overall I’m happy with the purchase, esp at this price, and can recommend it others.

Fairly satisfied

I had read reviews about the bike being wobbly, or difficult to put together, or not having the ability to select a display other than scan. The bike I got had very minor shipping damage which does not appear to impair the bike’s performance, or its useful life. The bike’s four floor pads are designed so that if it wobbles, simply rotate the floor pad to eliminate the unwanted movement. The electronics are simple to operate, and yes, you can choose which aspect of your ride you’d like to moniter. (ie. time, distance, calories burned, heart rate, etc.) I am 5’9″ and weigh 240, the bike is a good fit for me and supports me sturdily as I ride. If it weren’t for the shipping damage, the bike would be perfect.

Sorry I Bought It!!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I purchased this product based largely on customer reviews so I thought I better put in my two cents worth.
Seller was good and fast although box came in very damaged condition.
Bike was quite easy to put together, but I don’t like it.
I don’t know who thought up the handlebar design, but I find it awkward and uncomfortable to use. (too far forward) Also the seat is at the wrong angle (and unadjustable) . In use it is jerky and not at all smooth. The pulse feature didn’t work.
I’m sorry I bought it and will only use it until I find a better model. I’ve used some good bikes and some bad and although it is not the worst, it’s pretty bad.
Maybe you’ll like it better.

exercise bike review
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Description of bike was misleading. Weight limit of person using this exercise bike should have been part of description. Small print in booklet accompanying bike says it is unsafe for more than 250 pounds.
Although I weigh slightly less than this, I am afraid to use the bike for fear of it falling apart. I would not have purchased the bike had I seen this limit in the description. Also, the directions for operation of this bike are very complicated. I thought I was purchasing a simple exercise bike, not such a complicated piece of machinery. This bike would be perfect for a younger, more athletic, slimmer person.

Pass on this one

Since I’ve bought the bike (about a year ago) I’ve gone through two belts on it. The company was good about sending me a free replacement belt, but the design of the bike is flawed. This bike might be ok if you plan on peddling like a slow poke, but if you want any type of workout I’d look elsewhere. I’m looking for a replacement bike now.

Good for the price

I received this bike as a birthday gift and am please overall with it. One irritant I found was that some of the hardware was already installed on the bike, so I spent 10 minutes looking for screws, nuts, and washers that were already on the bike. Just be aware that when you purchase this, even though there is a separate package of hardware that comes with the bike, the majority of the hardware is already installed so don’t assume that you got shorted some pieces.
The tension is a little difficult to set up and I plan on looking more into it. I did what the instructions told me to, however there doesn’t seem to be an “easy” setting so far on this bike. The tension setting range is from 1 – 8, with 1 being the easiest, but I don’t notice any differences between the ranges.
I know the other person that reviewed this bike didn’t like that it cycled through the information while riding, but I actually prefer that it does. I found it nice to be able to just look at the screen and know how many miles I had ridden, what my speed was, etc..without having to interrupt my workout to push any buttons.

Decent for the price
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This bike is decent or the price. It works quite well – the range of resistance is pretty good and the heart rate monitor is decent so long as you keep your hands on the monitor points for at least a minute, otherwise it starts over trying to evaluate your heart rate. The main part of the unit is pre-assembled and the remainder isn’t too difficult.
The person complaining that the tension control does nothing probably didn’t follow the instructions to hook up the tension cable during setup, and to everyone complaining about the display cycling through the various readouts: just hit the “Mode” button! This let’s you choose what it displays, and it stops the automatic cyclcing!
A few things that I have found annoying:
* The seat is uncomfortable. Maybe it’s because I’m tall, but the main thing I want on a device that I’m going to use a lot is a comfy seat. I was not impressed at all with the one that came with it. If anyone has found a way to attach a better seat please leave a comment!
* If you stop using it briefly to take a short break the display clears within a minute or two, losing the estimated calories burned so far. This is quite annoying.
* After using it for a while, mine has developed a small rattle/tick as I turn the pedals. I haven’t cared enough to open it to see if it’s correctable. Sometimes it goes away.
* Inside there is some kind of band that acts as a chain between some of the parts. After a bit of use this band seems to rub against some of the internal parts and deposits black filings on my carpet. They don’t stain, but occasional vacuuming is required.
* The plastic for the shell is a bit brittle and easy to crack.
* The heart-rate monitor takes a while to recover and find your accurate heart rate if you remove your hands from the monitor points on the handle bars.
Overall it’s stood up fairly well and for the price it’s definitely a good starter bike. I would give it 4/5 if not for the quality of the seat.

Very good purchase for the money
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The seat is just slightly wobbly at times but still seems stable. Otherwise, it’s a very good buy, quiet and reasonably comfortable but I am 5’6″ and 120 lbs. I can’t say what it would be like if I were a really big person. I would recommend it overall.

15-5300 Silent Magnetic Resistance Upright Bike
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this on amazon and used the free shipping and received it about a week and a half later… Took it out of the box, it’s pretty simple to put together (took about an hour). But after about 20 minutes of riding the bike on tension # 6 the rubber belt has flipped off it’s wheel (like a bike chain off its gears). The bike is now completely useless as there is no resistance anymore. And I can’t get to the belt to try and fix it because the cover is impossible to take off without breaking it. Tried calling customer service but they are only open on weekdays 9-5, going to have to call them from work on Monday.
Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get a more quality item than this. It’ll save yourself a trip to the dump, too. This bike is a piece of junk.

Great Exercise Bike!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had this bike for over 3 months and ride it about 5 to 6 days a week for 20 to 25 minutes each day. It is a Great Bike! It was easy to assemble (though I did have my husband doing most of it) and takes up very little space. I keep it close to the TV so that I can ride it while watching my favorite shows. It is very quiet. It has more features than what I use – I just want to know how long I’m riding, how fast, and how far. But I’m sure the extra features may appeal to others. I highly recommend this bike. It was very reasonably priced and was well worth the money.

Great bike!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a great item! It’s perfect for me. The bike was really easy to assemble, and it tucks away nicely in corners when not in use. Also, the seat is big and jelly-like, which is comforting for my rear-end.

Excellent Product

I am usng this bike as rehab after hip replacement surgery; it’s very quiet & has adjustable resistance which is good for leg strengthening. I plan to continue using it as part of an overall fitness program.
My only complaint is the height of the seat; even at its lowest level, it is a “stretch” for a short woman like me(5 feet)to mount.

Still working good
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I bought this a couple of months ago. Not expecting much for this price. But this thing is still working good for me and my wife. We are both under 180lbs (it labels ‘not for use over 250lbs’) and 5-8″/5-10″ tall. The seat is good for us, after a first-time ache use…
There is no light on the display, but the (ordinary) light in our room is sufficient to read the panel.
a great starter machine

Nice for the price
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’ve only had this for a couple of days, but I’m pretty happy with it. The set-up wasn’t too hard except for connecting the tension cable which took quite a bit of fiddling. The bike sits pretty high, and since I’m short it’s a bit awkward to get on, but the seat is comfortable and the machine is very quiet.
For the other reviewer with the complaint about cycling through the stats on the display. You can easily set the display to show only one stat: just read the manual.
Update: I’ve had the bike for a couple of months now. I use it 4-5 days a week for about 30 mintues a day. It’s holding up well and I’m still very happy with it.
