    Superb Fitness Product

My wife and I both use it for core strength and upper arm toning exercises. It’s very easy to handle and store. Well worth the price. An even better value if you’re an Amazon Prime member because of the free shipping with 2-day delivery.

    Good for home use

This is okay, but a far cry from the medicine balls I use at the gym. Kind of slippery surface. The sand filling is a bit strange. You have to be careful not to inhale any when you are inflating the rest of the ball!

Also this is a pretty tiny one. I can easily hold it with one hand.

Not very firm when you lean your weight on it. Wouldn’t be great for pushups.

But it is a great, cheap alternative to the real ones.

    Great training ball.

This is the best size ball for situps. I recommend this ball and 1 size bigger, the 8 for stretching. Great buy.

    Smaller than Danskin 8# ball
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This ball was the same texture (smooth) as the Danskin DA-2638R 8 lb. Weighted Toning Ball but doesn’t come with DVD video like Danskin includes. Feels like it has a sack of sand inside (typical to these types).

I like the fact that it was smaller in diameter than other 8# balls which made it easier to hold. Also unexpectedly came with the air needle in case you needed to firm up the ball.

Recommended if you don’t need the DVD.

The Valeo weighted ball is both pliable and durable. I fell in love with it instantly!

    Minor Problem
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This product is great and so far I had no problem with it all but I got a letter through the mail that said something about this product being recalled because if you inflate it too much it can explode and cause some injuries.

Maybe they have fixed this problem now cause I got it awhile back.

So other than that problem, this product is good.

It is smaller than I’d imagine. (A little bigger than a baseball and smaller than a basketball.)

    Valeo 6lb “Fitness Ball”
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I was expecting a medicine ball and this is not a medicine ball. It’s pretty small but it does work well. It arrived fairly flat so I needed to get a pump to pump it up. If you’re looking for a medicine ball, this is not the one!

    Nice ball with bad texture
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This ball is a smaller cousin of the medicine ball. It’s softball-sized, rather than basketball-sized. Its size and weight are great. Its texture leaves a lot to be desired. The shell is *very* smooth. If your hands sweat at all, holding the ball for medium-speed and high-speed motions is going to be dicey. As long as its use is restricted to slow motions, it’s O.K. Ideally, the ball would have more of an orange-peel surface like basketballs and Valeo’s medicine balls have. Having a rough surface would make this O.K. product into a great product.

    great size
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this to use for added resistance during my training (during crunches, lunges and squats)and it’s the perfect size for my hands and gives just the right amount of weight. It does make a “sloshing” noise, I assume from the sand or whatever is in it, but I’ve gotten used to it.

Thought it was like a boxer’s ball, but…
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
It’s much smaller and is basically an elastic ball filled with a sand-like material. It’s actually quite fun to just toss it around and all that jazz. Works great for working out as well!

Do not buy this if you are expecting a full sized medicine ball. This one fits in the palm of your hand

Good fitness ball for home use
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a great thing to have around the house for the times when you can’t get to the gym. The box includes a sheet with some sample exercises, which is nice when you are not feeling creative. I look forward to buying more in different weights.

I was dumb enought to think that it was a good sized ball. It is about the size of a yoga medicine ball.

    Ok..some issues
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I love the Valeo fitness ball, my only problem is that when it came it was extremely deflated and nothing like the image on the site. I wasn’t expecting to have to purchase a pump to go with the ball. Would probably not buy this product online again.

    5″ diameter means 5″ diameter
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
It’s obviously my fault for not realizing what 5″ diameter means, but I was surprised to find this quite a bit smaller than I was expecting. This actually ended up okay (once I bought a medicine ball that was closer in size to what I was visualizing) because certain lifts work better with a small ball, especially one that be gripped with one hand.

The ball does need a tiny bit of air pumped in before use (a needle is provided in the packaging), but it is a little annoying to have the inner volume be 80% sand, 20% air, which you can definitely feel.

This is a very simple product and, paraphrasing the immortal Dennis Green, “it is what we thought it was” (just make sure you think it’s a 5″ ball).

Not what it appears to be
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
This is a weighed fitness ball, but very deceptive by what you see. The ball is small – about the size of a cantalope – and full of sand for the weight. It is slippery rubber on the outside so you can’t use it for certain exercises because it can slip out of your hand. We were very unhappy with the product.

What a workout juggling these balls!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Perfect size to juggle with. Bought 3 to work with. It is quite a workout keeping these ball going. Have dropped them many times now…no damage to the balls themselves. Its a total body workout just to juggle the 3 balls for 2 minutes. Someday I hope to get up to the 10 pounders!

    Heavy Little Ball
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I originally bought the weight ball for my wife, but find myself using this palm sized ball in ab crunches and triceps. This little ball is the perfect size even for a large man to add some extra weight while maintaining a closed hand grip posture.

Just the way I like it
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
No problems with delivery. At first it felt like a big hard block, then I remembered to inflate it a little. Feels great, exercises muscles in a very different way than regular weights. Have had it about a month, air pressure is holding up nicely.

Great toning ball … all weights 5 inches in diameter for easy handling…
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The good thing about the Valeo Weighted Toning/Fitness Balls is that they are ALL 5 inches in diameter, regardless of the weight size (2lbs up to 10lbs). This means that you can hold 2 10lb. toning balls (one in each hand) while exercising. This is not true of the other toning fitness balls (i.e., gofit and danskin). With the Gofit and Danskin balls, the diameter of the balls increase as the weight increases. So the diameters of the GoFit and Danskin balls are roughly as follows: 6lb=a little under 6 inches, 8lb=a little over 6.5 inches, and 10lb=roughly 7inches versus 5 inches for all of the Valeo balls.

This difference in diameters is really the only difference that I noticed among all of the toning balls. They are all made of soft vinyl, filled with sand and air, and a great alternative to the tranditional hand weights. You can’t go wrong buying the Valeo, GoFit or Danskin weighted toning balls.

UPDATED (4/17/06): After using the toning balls for several months, I have found that I actually prefer neoprene dumbbells. Dumbbells are easier and more comfortable to hold and handle. I still think these are good toning balls. But given a choice between a toning ball and a neoprene dumbbell, I would choose a neoprene dumbbell.

    Not very satisfied
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I do not like this ball because it is filled with sand that sloshes around as you move the ball. It is very annoying. If the sand completely filled the ball, it would be acceptable. I think I would prefer a medicine ball-which is actually what I thought I was getting anyway.

    just having a ball
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Medicine balls are good for weight-bearing exercise. I myself need as much of that as I can take. This ball is just right for the little excess weight you need in various exercises.

a squishy ball filled with sand. you can pump it up with more air. it’s got a nice rubbery feel, nice and sticky/tacky for grip. nothing to it. gets the job done.
