Disipointed – Protector Needed

My doctor said these are the best for my feet. I don’t notice a difference as far as my muscles ect., but they work for what the doctor had in mine.
I should have put a protector on them to protect them for dirt & stains. I suggest that if you buy the suede type, buy protector & cleaner at the same time. After the fact cleaning doesn’t seem to help.

I thought these shoes were heavy looking at them, but wearing them you cant’t tell the difference in weight. It took about 1 day for me to get use to the motion, but it is truely amazing, I walk up a lot of hills and I can see the difference in my calves.

Comfortable Shoe!

I bought this shoe for standing and walking at work with little sitting. It seems true to size and width. It is the most comfortable shoe that I have ever worn for working! When I am finished at the end of the day and take my shoes off, my feet feel like I just got up out of bed. I adjusted to the curving of the shoes after a few minutes. I did not notice any difference in my calves or gluts, but time may tell.

I really haven’t bonded with the shoes. I think it might take a while as when I walk with them, my legs hurt. Maybe it will take some getting use to thr rolling of the shoe. I wouldn’t tell any one to rush out and buy a pair
I think that I would have liked a litle more information on the shoe. I believe the ad was a little misleading.

Having a bad back I had not been able to stay on my feet for over 50 minutes. I find I can walk much longer with these shoes without my back starting to bother me. They are very comfortable too.

Bliss for the feet

I researched these shoes a fair bit and decided to purchase them. I am a bit flat footed and I have always struggled to find comfortable shoes. I usually take a size 9.5 but I found the size 10 fits perfectly for me. The shoes are very well made and seem really durable. From the moment I put on the shoes I felt instant comfort, and I didn’t really want to take them off! They cushion and support the foot very well and even with the thicker heel it does not feel ‘tippy’ where you could tip your ankle to the side..just very solid. The physical benefits of the shoes are a great bonus but for me the absolute comfort makes them worth money well spent..wearing them have really inspired me to do alot more walking..my previous footwear was somewhat comfortable but after walking for a lengthy distance left my feet sore but I have not found that at all wearing the Shape Up’s. I highly recommend them, I am really thrilled with these shoes and the comfort they give me!

Highly recommended shoe for people who stand for long periods of time

I am a veterinary technician with 12 hour shifts. These shoes are absolutely amazing. I am able to not feel pain in my knees or ankles after standing and lifting heavy (60+lb) dogs. Recently I took a trip to San Diego, CA for vacation. I was able to tour the USS Midway, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, and Seaworld in 5 days walking several miles per day and NOT feel any pain whatsoever in my legs or feet at the end of the day. On top of that, I walked from my hotel to some of these destinations and kept going without fatigue. Health benefits are a bonus, I have noticed my calves and thighs toning up more. But to use these as a substitute for running or actually working out would not be very good for overall health. I recommend these shoes because they are very comfortable and if you have pain in your feet or legs due to your job and long periods of standing around (hospital worker etc) then you must try these shoes out!

Feel a difference after 2 days

I was very excited to try these shoes since I walk my dogs 4 times a day. They felt only slghtly unstable at first, but I knew that was because they were working stabilizer muscles I don’t usually use. My calves were the first place I felt a bit “work-out-sore”… and then my but. I felt I had done some lungs or squats. The outer lower hips/but, which I find difficult to work out, are definitely being worked. The feeling is similiar to some yoga or balance ball moves. Following the directions on how to walk on them is important (but easy). I’m going to get a pair for my husband.

I was excited about this shoe after reading the shoe information and the reviews. I’m so glad I got them. It’s true what some say on previous reviews, the shoe size runs small and you should buy a half size larger. I did and they’re perfect. They are so soft and comfortable and very light weight. At first I was a little skeptical about the advertised benefits of wearing these shoes. After my first long walk with them I noticed my posture automatically changed. It was so subtle. I didn’t have the shoulder strain from slouching forward and my calves and hamstrings got a real workout. I love these shoes!

Not a workout

This is advertised as a tool to promote muscle activity. It is recomended to only wear the shoes for short periods when first getting used to them because you’ll feel your muscles burning. I cannot feel a thing. They don’t feel much different than the platform volatiles I used to wear in highschool.
I have back problems and was looking forward to something that would help tone and build the muscles that support my hips and back, but when the shoe does not deliver what is advertised I am skeptical that it works at all. Time will tell if my gait and posture improves, but I’ve worn these hours on end and felt no difference.
I do not have foot problems so I cannot attest to that aspect, but my regular cross trainers seem a little more comfortable for my feet.
The idea of having a curved bottom shoe that squishes flat when you walk on it seems redundant to me.
If I was going to bother to plunk down $100+ dollars for a shoe in the first place I wish I’d put a bit more down and tried the MBTs.
(I don’t usually write reviews but I’m a little annoyed by these shoes)

Bought a pair of these shoes – the beige shown above (after a year of walking past them in the mall). WOW!!! I ahve had heel issues for the past 6 months – had to stop my daily walks. Now I am walking every day – I have bought 3 pairs so far. Two sneaker styles and one maryjane style for work. I absolutely couldn’t live without these! Also have a pair of boots on back order. These shoes have allowed me to walk and do small hikes. Highly recommend them. Oh and another thing – the look of my legs has changed – more toned and shapely. I really did not believe that it would do that – was looking for a pair of shoes I could walk in.

The Best Friends My Feet Have Ever Had!

I must admit, when I had first heard about Skechers Shape Ups, I was skeptical. So I did some research and read other peoples reviews. So I went for it, and bought a pair. When I first tried them on in the store,all I can remember is saying, these are really comfy. I walked around a little bit and said to the clerk, I want them. I have been wearing them for over a week now. I don’t feel that I had to get used to the shoes. They just felt great to walk in, right from the start! I have been wearing them everyday to work. I can’t really explain completely how wonderful these shoes feel on my feet! I used to come home from work, after standing on my feet almost the whole day, and my heels would just ache. My heels haven’t hurt since I have been wearing the Shape Ups!!! Not to mention, I feel I am standing up straighter, and I’m not even trying to. My lower back doesn’t hurt anymore, and my knees don’t hurt. As far as the strengthening of the legs, I can feel it a little in my calfs & my stomach muscles feel a bit tight. I really truly LOVE these shoes! I don’t remember how many times I’ve said to my husband and coworkers, “These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn”. I just went back to the shoe store and bought another pair to wear just for at home. Over the years, I have spent a lot of money foulishly on many pairs of shoes. But I can say, that this time, it was a smart investment, it was money well spent!

Wrong Size

I ordered the Optimize shoe in white. I took the advice of other people who said that these shoes run small and that you should order them 1/2 a size bigger. I received them today and they are TOO BIG. Now I have to pay to send them back and order a different size. Very annoying. I would recommend trying them in a store first to see what size you need before ordering them. I would have done that but I live on a military base in Japan and they don’t have any here to try.

Love Them!

I work as a waitress so I’m on my feet alot. These sneakers are so comfortable. Just don’t think you’re going to whip yourself into shape though if you aren’t putting in the time walking. The shape ups do help your posture though because you have to stand correctly so you don’t loose your balance. All that considered though I can wear them for hours.

I have a pair of Skechers tennis shoes that I loved so when I heard about these, I had to try them. They are so comfortable! I always buy tennis shoes in a half size larger to accomodate swollen feet from walking or working out and they fit perfect so I recommend buying a half size up.
I have had many problems with shoes because of my flat feet and my skinny ankle causing my foot to constantly slide forward. I have none of these problems with this shoe. I didn’t feel any discomfort walking in them. I can’t really say if they actually do make you more toned as I work out regularly so it’s hard to tell. But even if they don’t, they are worth it for the comfort aspect alone. I don’t think I’ll ever wear a regular tennis shoe again as long as these are available.

I was a bit skeptical when I read the ad for Sketchers Shape-Ups (see ad above). It seemed like a lot to ask of a lowly shoe. But I was hoping it would work, so I purchased a pair. Walked all over the mall, upstairs and down. Walked around my apartment complex when I got home and noticed that stretchy feeling in the back of my thighs. Went to bed that night and woke up around 1am. Boy, my backside was burning. I am a licensed massage therapist and my first thought was “I need a massage!” I could feel the burn all through the glutes and hamstrings. Those shoes had definitely provided an effortless workout. My only complaint is they do not come in wide width. I purchased another pair later in a men’s size and they are perfect. They perform as advertised! Well worth 100 bucks.

Comfortable shoes–REALLY

The short version is these shoes are better than adverised. The long story is that I have been cursed with extremely high arches. As a result, my feet have given me a lot of pain over the years, and as I age, they only get worse. I have spent a fortune on podiatrists, othopedists and an array of orthotics. I have been willing to try almost anything in order to find shoes I can walk in comfortably so have been on a constant search for any new shoe design that might offer some relief. I read the information on the Sketcher Shape Up shoes, and although they provide physical fitness benefits, I was focused on the design of the sole. The claims of an extremely comfortable and soft shoe bed were enough to get my attention. When I saw them on Amazon.com for about what I usually spend for walking shoes I bought them right away. They have delivered in spades, and I have worn them almost constantly since they arrived. And that is saying something for a real hillbilly. I would recommend them to anyone with sore feet–they are truly like walking on air. The fitness benefits are a welcome additional feature of these shoes. Do your feet a favor–buy them a pair of these–they’ll love you forever!

Cheaper version of a good shoe

I have owned MBT for a year now. I wanted to try shechers’ less expensive version. I bought a pair. I have to say that they don’t last as much as the MBTs. I have owned the skechers for just over a month now. They don’t take the beating I give them as much as MBT do.

I was a little nervous ordering shoes online but was happy with my Skechers Shape-Up’s. Skechers are expensive but well worth it! Feels like your walking on a cloud, or as some reviewers have said, a marshmallow. If you have bunions, like me, then buy a size bigger because they lace up and can be adjusted for a perfect fit. It is a whole new concept of walking! 1. Corrects your posture making you stand and walk tall which takes time to get used to. 2. Wear them in the house until you get used to them as they have a rocking motion. 3. Be careful at first when stepping off curbs to get the feel of where your feet land. 4. Comfortable to wear all day once you break them in, but only wear them an hour at a time adding an hour each day. I reccommend Skechers so much that I bought me another pair!

This is a great shoe. Just got a pair of the optimize in white. I’ve been having a lot of soreness in my heels since my pregnancy. I put these shoes on 3 hrs ago & my feet feel great. Hardly no pain in my heels. Already thinking of buying another pair.

These are the most comfortable walking shoes I’ve ever worn. No “break in” period (for shoes or feet) needed. I put them on and just started going. Like the Battery Bunny, I keep going and going and going. My feet don’t hurt and the muscles in my calves actually feel good. I stand a lot and my legs felt great at the end of the day. I’ve had them 2 days and have just ordered a second pair in another color!!

sizing way off

I’m not sure whether the shoes work or not because the sizing was so off I sent them back. I am consistently a woman’s size 10. I was so disappointed when I received the shoes. They were the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever put on. I sent them back immediately. I wish they would be honest with the sizing and state they run small. What a waste of time.

I purchased these shoes to work in. I work on my feet quite a bit. I figured the added benefit of working my legs would be a plus. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned! They are really soft on the inside, but you can really feel your muscles working! I just ordered my second pair in another color. Don’t pass these shoes up!

Holy Mother of All Things Awesome, These Shoes RULE!

I want to hug the living heck out of the genius who perfected this technology. I’ve had my eye on the “Fit Flops” that I would see in the Victoria’s Secret catalog for a while and wondered if they did what they claimed to do, but there was no way I’d ever spend $60 on a pair of flip flops…Not even if they were MAGIC flip flops.
I decided to finally buy these Sketchers on Cyber-Monday because Amazon was discounting these shoes by $25 and because sketchers have always treated me well comfort-wise. Well, I just took them out on their maiden-voyage to the gym and I could hardly believe what I was experiencing! I am a 30-yr old woman with arthritis, a knee that doesn’t track properly, and fibromyalgia up the yin yang, due to having been hit by a car as a pedestrian 9 yrs ago. I can’t even walk slow on the treadmill without my knee getting all out of whack. So, all I can really do for exercise on the daily is the eliptical machine, swimming and yoga, which I admit is tough for me to motivate myself to do (and all of you with fibromyalgia know what I mean!)
I’m telling you, my abs were on freakin fire! Anyone with arthritis or any other joint-issues MUST get this shoe. It does what it claims to so and then some! When I’m standing still, it feels like all my weight is off my heels and balls of my feet and concentrated in the middle of the arch, which happens to be full of cushy foam and air. You don’t have to try and do anything different, your body will adjust immediately and your core can’t help but engage. Much better than those crazy disgusting electrocution belts, but just as effortless.
I seriously believe that these shoes will change my life! Like I said, anyone with a joint condition will appreciate these shoes more than people without any chronic pain could possibly understand.
The only thing that confuses me is the differences among the different styles. I happened to get the “Optimize” just because it seems best to be optimal. I couldn’t find any info on this issue, so it’s a good thing I love my super-optimal shoes!

I brought these shoes, because they sounded like the perfect shoes for shaping up, but what they don’t tell you is that they rock by and forth, and when you stand still, you need to stand with you legs apart, other wise you will fall backwards. I would actually like to send these back and get some other shoes, because I feel these shoes are dangerous. They are not true to size, you need to go up a size, and they aren’t very comfortable. I usually love sketcher shoes, I would like to get the baby doll style shoe that is a shape up, because it has a flat bottom. I take a size 6 if they are true to size, if not I need a size 6.5. I hope you can help me with the sketcher company, and if you do I will write the best review for a company ever. Because I get a lot of people asking me if I like these shoes, and right now I say they are great, but I could start telling people that they are not. So here is my review the shoes with the rocker bottoms are dangerous.

I have tons of foot problems and have destroyed my ankles from sprains and rolling them over the years. Also, my posture hasn’t been that great, perhaps from everything I’ve done to my feet. I put these shoes on in the store and my fiancee immediately said he’s never seen me stand up so straight. I think it’s impossible to hunch in these shoes. I now have perfect posture after owning these shoes for less than 48 hours. I can also walk comfortably for the first time in years. These shoes are AMAZING!!!! I am looking to buy the other styles as well. If they somehow put this technology in dress heels I’d never buy a different brand ever again.

Kind of Disappointed

These shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Even better than my shox. I have terrible feet, and these make you feel like you are walking on air, or marshmellows!!! But I have had them less than three weeks and the are already starting to crack on the sides! I paid 120.00 for these shoes after shipping. They shouldnt be falling apart already. Im very upset! I love the way they feel. but if they are going to fall apart they are not worth it.

easy workout

I have enjoyed wearing this shoe at work. I stand all day and my feet and legs were killing me. I saw the advertisement for this shoe on tv, did and little research, and decided to give the shoe a try. I have worn them now for approximately three weeks every day at work. My feet and legs immediately stopped hurting from the constant standing. I don’t know for sure if they are doing all they are suppose to do but I am satisfied with my purchase.The width and size were accurate. I don’t think the shoes are particularly “cute”, but I have had many compliments from others. I like these shoes so much I am planning to purchase the maryjane shape-ups also.

MBTs Are Better

This shoe is not nearly as well made or comfortable as the MBT shoe after which it is imitating. I thought I would try the Skecher Shape Ups to see if they are comparable since they are much less expensive. I have worn this shoe for three days and have found it not to be as well made or as comfortable as the comparable MBT that I have been wearing for most of the year. I have put the two shoes together to look at them and cannot see much difference on the outside but I can sure feel the difference on the inside. The concept is definately good and I like the style better for this shoe but for functionality the MBT is better for me.

After reading several of the reviews on Amazon I bought these sneakers and I’ve had them for about a month. I LOVE THEM! I was a little worried they’d look orthapedic or strange but in black leather you don’t even notice the sole. I’ve owned Sketchers before and loved them but sometimes thought they were too heavy. I have a rare nerve and circulatory condition in my legs and feet and arthritis in my knees so I always wear sneakers, even at work. These shoes have definitely helped strenghthen my calves and ankles and they are so comfortable! You have to practicve a little in walking heel to toe regularly but after a day of wearing them it felt natural. Best of all I decorate cakes as a side business and now I can stand a lot longer and more comfortably without aggravating my legs or having to sit as often. I highly recommend these shoes for anyone that has foot/leg trouble or has to stand for a long time. I’ll be buying more varieties!

Perfect Shoes

I had weight lose surgery in Sept of 08. And was told I must must must walk.
Well I saw these shoes and bought them in June. I’ve worn them every day. And I can tell you these shoes work wonders on your legs.
With the rapid weight lose from surgery I of course had some muscle tone lose but NOT in my legs because I wore these faithfully.
I have the legs of a dancer now in a size 8 jean. And thats saying alot since I started out a size 24.
I can’t tell you enough how comfortable these shoes are. It’s like walking on clouds.
Don’t hesitate to spend the money…BUY these NOW.

I’m about 75 lbs overweight. I got these shoes because I hoped each step I take would work towards losing the weight. I wear them for everyday use as opposed to exercising. I love these shoes and have recommended them to everyone. It changes the way you walk (for the better) and I believe helped reduce the pain in my knees due to arthritis. I have two pairs!

better than mbts

I bought the $300 plus mbts in a sport store and returned them 3 days
later.I liked the design but simply couldn’t adjust to the shoe.After an
hour they hurt.I tried for 3 days inside gradually increasing the time

try these. Instatly comfortable-wore them for 8 hours the first day.I’m sure theres lots of people that like the other brand but I do think they’re overpriced. However if those shoes felt like these I would have

I did not believe that these shoes would work. I don’t have the pain that I had in my back anymore after 2 months. The shoes are so comfy I am thinking of buying the boots now.

I have probably 5 pairs of these awesome shoes and I have to say that they are all are great!!! There is one exception though, I do wear different sizes in the different styles (my one foot is a tad smaller than the other). But they are ALL great comfortable fun shoes!!! I got a GC from Amazon & they had a sale plus free shipping so I am so happy I got a good deal!!!

I bought the plain white pair about a month ago, and they feel like walking on platform shoes at first, and then after I got use to that they are so soft and have so much cushion, definitely recommend them for people that stand on their feet all day. I can tell how they make you improve your posture immediately and stand straight up hold you body up right, and the next day my legs were aching. I have had 3 knee surgeries, and recovering from third just 5 months ago, and not ready for the full gym yet. So yes I am very pleased, walking a little futher each day. Getting ready to order another color Black. I know the price are high, but it was worth it for me. They have a great technology behind how you walk in them. Love them.

These shoes are turely wonderful. I have had them for two days and wore them trick or treating with my daughter. I can feel the difference in my legs. (A good kind of sore) We walk everynight so I shouldn’t have felt anything different. Nicely made and very comfortable. They do run small. I wear a 9.5 and bought at 10 and they just fit.

Only criticism I have is not to wear these on rainy days when it is slippery…hard to keep balance. Otherwise, they are phenomenal!

i’ve only had these shoes for 3 days now, but i have to agree with all the positive reviews of how they work! if used properly, you’ll feel the difference in your posture and the “pull” on your calves and thighs. the only thing i disagree with is the size. i think it fits true to size, and i’m glad i took the chance and bought my regular size. i’m not big on wearing walking shoes at all (i love my high heeled shoes/boots!), but these are fantastic! would definitely recommend.
