Worth every penny!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This past summer, while on vacation, I purchased my Shape-ups at a mall department store. As I walked past the display, I noticed the amount of cushion on the bottoms of the shoe. I’m a full figured woman, and I need shoes with support. When I tried them on, I walked over to the tiled section of the store and walked around. I felt immediate relief in my back and my feet. After making my purchase, I left the store wearing the shoes. Over the next few days, I did notice some soreness in my calves, but soon that was gone. I wear my Shape-ups almost everyday. On occasion, women ask me how I feel about them. I’ll tell anyone willing to listen that these shoes are worth every penny. Recently, a friend asked me what I had been doing because my thighs are toned and my calves are rock solid. I suggested she get a pair of Shape-ups.

The Best Walking Shoes
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
These shoes are the best walking shoes I have ever had! I ware them going to work and going home after work every day!
These shoes look better on my feet than I thought. I am glad I followed the recommend exercises during the first week after the purchase. I do not have enough time to exercise during the week and I really hope these shoes will help me to take better care of my legs and tights.
Very good price for the excellent performance. The size is slightly less than the one marked on the box.

A back saver!
So I guess there may really be something to the whole “shape up” thing. But really that’s secondary when compared to the comfort and anti-pain benefits.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have a whole plethora of spine and back issues. I’m under an Ortho’s care and am in PT 3 times a week. Part of my regimen is a daily walk but due to my particular lower lumbar issues, it was hurting. Before the shoes, I could feel ever jolt on my lower vertebrates. The second I put on these shoes that jolting was gone. It was actually comfortable to walk again! I still have my spine issues, and no shoe is going to solve that but at least I can work on healing myself without worrying about lower lumbar shock issues. These shoes also extend your standing time. I can work in the kitchen much longer than I used to be able to when I wear these. So I would recommend them for anyone with a job that requires alot of standing. Oh and as for what they’re advertised for with the whole “shaping up and losing weight” I must admit I thought that was a big load. However, after the first time I used them for a consistent speed walk (40 minutes) the next morning my gluts and hips were SORE. But in the good way.

No Jarring Impacts
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The most wonderfull aspect of these shoes is the elimnation of impact on my knees! I bought mine at a brick and mortar store for the same price as Amazon. The shoes came with a dvd that explains how they work, how to walk in them, and a Sketchers workout. I do alot of walking both in the home with Leslie Sansone’s walk at home series and out of the home as I’m a 3 dog owner. My knees and shins used to always hurt even with fancy expensive inserts, I bought these on a whim just hoping they might help and they did. I really don’t wear any of my other shoes anymore and will be purchasing another pair soon. Some things also worth mentioning is the price, they are spendy, so not everybody can afford to see if these could benefit them, and I also don’t beleive that anybody will lose weight just by using these for everyday walking.

Exercise while you walk
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Exercise while you walk around, no sweat, no lifting weights, no additional equipment, just you and your shoes. Would suggest you get 1/2 size bigger just so you will have a little extra toe room. They are comfy and I do believe they make you stand taller, straigher and that your posture improves. Worth a try.

Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I wore these for my daily 30-45 minute morning walks on the treadmill. They felt ok but a little “loose”—they could have used another eye for the laces so they laced up a bit higher. After a week or so, I had some discomfort in my hip joints. For this reason I stopped wearing them. They are just a litle to “squishy” for me. I prefer the feeling of support and groundedness I get from my regular running shoes.

Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After reading some of the reviews, I was a little bit hesitant to order, fearing the shoe would be too narrow. I decided to order anyway and I’m so glad that I did. The fit is perfect and is not too narrow. As soon as I put them on, I felt like I was walking on clouds. I wear them everywhere I possibly can. I also expected them to be really ugly, but to my surprise, they aren’t. I didn’t realize that the “dots” where it laces are rhinestone, which I really like. I haven’t had them long enough to know whether or not they really help with the shape-up, but so far, I really do enjoy wearing them.

These shoes are great
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I tried on my actual size, and one half size up, and my normal size felt very snug so I bought one-half size larger. I have to tie the shoes tightly so that my heel doesn’t slip upward in the back. It’s tough to buy shoes online, but if you are, I would recommend buying them directly from Amazon and buying them in your normal size. Amazon is very good about accepting unused items for return. In the unfortunate event that you need to return them, you won’t have a problem if you do it this way.
Now back to the shoes…the ones I bought took a little bit of getting used to because of the angle of the heel in the back. This angle encourages a way of walking that requires more effort, thereby providing more of a workout. The video that comes with the shoes provides instructions on how to get the best workout while simply wearing and walking in the shoes.
When I take the shoes off I feel like I have had somewhat of a workout. Another way of describing it (when you take them off) is that feeling you get when you take off a pair of high heels. I haven’t had these shoes long enough to verify whether I will “shape up” or lose weight, but I can say without a doubt that I am encouraged to walk more often and longer because of the inspiration that the shoes provide.
If I do NOT receive the expected benefits from the shoes, I will come back within a couple months to modify my review. At this point though, I don’t think that will be necessary.
Follow-up, 12/22/2009: I like the shoes and wear them as much as reasonably possible, but I have not lost any weight. Don’t expect miracles. Although, when I wear them it’s as if I’m walking up a slight incline, and that does provide more effort and more work for the muscles. I also notice that my posture improves when I am wearing them. I still feel somewhat unsteady on my feet standing still. Will update as things progress.

Shoe is not worth the money and not comfortable AT ALL!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I’m not sure why people are raving about these shoes. I purchased these shoes about 2 months ago, based on the reviews and claims of how comfortable they are and how effective it helps in workouts. To be honest, I wore these shoes on and off for 3 weeks straight. I’ve never had so much ankle swelling and pain, in my entire ‘shoe buying’ life. Plus, I’m sorry again for those that think this is the best shoe ever, but I have to disagree. There is literally no comfort cushioning in these shoes. I felt like I was walking on cardboard the whole time. I finally had to take out the original cushions and put in my own. Even with the exchange in cushions, my ankle was still swelling. So, I figured I was walking in the shoes wrong. So, I decided to watch the video provided on sketchers/amazon site. Nope nothing wrong with the way I was walking, as it seemed I was walking in them correctly. So, next step..maybe I just need time to get used to them.. Well, my ankle swelled so badly that I could barely walk for 2 weeks. I had to consistently ice my ankle down. On top of that I eventually stop wearing the shoes. It was just too painful, as my knees where also starting to hurt.
I guess these shoes are not meant for everyone alike. It was just too much stress on my back, knees, hips and especially ankle. I honestly didn’t see any of the benefits that sketchers seem to claim. So, I decided to return the shoes. Thank goodness, I purchased them in Macy’s as they took them back without argument as I told them that my ankle was hurting in these shoes.
Even as I write this review, and having returned the shoes 2 months ago.. I still feel some pain in my ankle and knees. I say ‘buyer beware’. If you purchased these shoes, then try wearing them around the house, before you actually wear them outside. Or I hightly recommend if you just don’t purchase them, as they are not worth the money and I didn’t see any good benefits come out of these shoes.

These shoes look good and they are very comfortable. However, since I have a very high arch I can feel a slight pain on the top of my foot after a while. They are great to walk and to stand on them. I can feel my muscles while I walk on them. They are certianly worth the money if I get my legs and buttocks toned. I do not feel pain after being in these shoes on the bottom of my feet for a long time. I will try an alternate way of tying them to see if the pain on the top of my foot is less.
Overall tehy are great!!! I will be making more comments in a few weeks.

Knee pain gone!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am a nurse – so on my feet a lot, and for extended periods. I also have had knee surgery on one, and have arthritis in both. I realized tonight that my knees are not hurting – usually they hurt all the time, from one degree to another. I love these shoes! I have been through the gamut of work shoes – did the danskos until my surgery – sold them all; then I was wearing running shoes – they were alright (I thought), until I got these. I will be buying more of these. Beware, you do have to get used to the feel. I wore them around my house, then the first time I wore them to work, I felt a little awkward, and like I was off balance. That is probably the magic in these shoes – you stand better, or are better aligned. Now I walk in them with complete ease, and comfort. Try them, I hope you’ll like them as much as I do.

Shape-ups VS. MBT
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have worn the MBT shoes for a few years now – but never out in public, other than walking in the neighborhood. Why? Well, just look at them. The Skecher’s version are much “cuter”. I wore them with shorts over the summer, and received compliments simply on their looks! I find them to be just as effective as the MBT’s – perhaps more so, because I am willing to wear them more frequently. The difference between the two seems to be that on the MBT the “squishy” material is only under the heel, while on the Shape-ups it is under most of the foot. I notice my calves and upper legs getting a workout from the Shape-ups and my posture is greatly improved when I wear them – which means less back pain. Also, I noticed that the pain I usually feel in my heels at the end of the day doesn’t exist on the days I wear my Shape-ups! If you’re “thinking about it” DO IT!

Helps my lower back
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Because my spine is twisted to the left from a trampoline accident years ago, my right side over compensates and is sore all the time. Many times, my back would go out and it was very painful. I’m only 33 years old. Since wearing my Sketcher Shape-Ups, I have had no lower back pain. They really help to align my spine and give me a better posture. I would recommend these shoes to everyone. I think I’ll try the flip flops, come summer.

Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I got my shape ups about a month ago and I am very happy with them. I do think they run small width wise. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 medium in running shoes. I had to get an 11 in these, not so much for the length but they were too narrow and I have never had to wear a wide shoe. Also they are not breatheable at all and my feet get hot when I wear the shoes for long periods of time.
I wear these when I am not exercising or working ie; to run errands, clean the house, go shopping in. I would not run or do weight bearing exercise in them, they cause me to roll to the side if I am not paying attention and I could see myself possibly breaking an ankle if running.
They seem to work. My legs are tired after I wear them and I feel like they do what they are supposed to do.

In all I’m relief since I bought a fantastic pair of Reebok shoes which I LOVE and are all i needed.
maybe it’s unfair to give 1star to a product I didn’t even tried, and probably are perfect, so I clarify that the one star is due the awful customer service

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. I didn’t have to break them in gradually like most shoes. I just had a total knee replacement and they really help with keeping my foot straight and walking properly. I was really excited to get this shoe from Skechers but when I wore them on the treadmill the first time, after 15 minutes, the bottom of my feet felt like they were on fire. Sooo, being how I wanted this shoe for fitness — this shoe, unfortunately, is not for me (maybe it is just meant for walking around but on the treadmill, I wasn’t running and I was walking, and they hurt really bad. These shoes work. I bought these shoes about 1 month ago and have been wearing them almost everyday. The thing that stuck me most was that I could really feel them working. I could feel me legs working harder. Also the DVD that comes with the shoes (I am not sure if that is also offered here but if you buy them from a store it comes with a work out DVD) gives you quite a work out.
The shoes are also very comfortable and do help you stand tall and aligned which is always good.

I’ve been a big fan of Skechers for years and I bought these shoes not to work out in, but to wear around to supplement my workouts. While I think my tushie might be a little more toned, my legs and feet ache a lot since I started wearing them. They don’t feel very comfortable either, when I’m walking. (The fit seems fine and they are true to size.) I’ve had them for nearly a month and I’m still not sold on whether they were worth the $110. I am wondering why so much leg and feet pain suddenly? I’m a runner so have to wear different shoes during workouts. I don’t know yet, but I will probably not wear them for much longer.

If you have foot pain, you MUST buy these shoes right now!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I cannot say enough. I have bone spurs and plantar fasciitis, so my feet hurt all day, every day, no matter what I’m doing. I am a public school teacher and ordered these immediately when I got a Summer School job and discovered I’d have to be taking my second graders on three field trips to the zoo, museums, etc, in a period of three weeks. This is New York City, so we had to tromp around the subway to get to our destinations, and then walk around the entire day. In order words, there was no place to sit down for the entirety of the trips. I was terrified I wouldn’t even be able to make it and would have to quit the job altogether. The sole on these shoes looked so supportive that I ordered them and cannot adequately express my shock and gratitude for how they eliminated any hint of foot pain. I walked around like a person whose feet don’t hurt, which is something that hasn’t happened to me in years. I’ve already ordered the “Skechers Shape Ups for Work”. Seriously, if your feet hurt, buy these shoes. You need them.

These sneakers are awesome! I have been wearing mine for approximately 4 weeks and it isn’t a day that goes by that people stop and ask me if they work, well here’s the truth. I feel such a difference in my legs, thighs and buttocks, it certainly works muscles that have been dormant. I did not buy these sneakers for that at all. My problem is I have arthritis, I felt as though these sneakers would be good for my knees. They have done exactly what I had hoped for, my feet is lifted off of the ground, as I am a VERY hard walker and the sneakers has cushioned my knees from the pounding I seem to give them as I walk! I am also getting a workout as it promises. On another note, it helps you to stand straight and taller. I just saw the commercial for the first time over the weekend, as I did not buy it because of the advertisement, I bought because I had purchased Skeckers two years ago and fell in love the the brand. Hope this helps anyone who is on the fence about purchasing them. To me the price was worth every penny spent on them.
Thank you,

I’ve always had really high arches, and never the right shoes, so my feet have always hurt. Then, in May, I got ankle surgery to repair torn cartilage, and there was some nerve damage, so I’ve been in A LOT of pain.
Physical therapy was helping but when I went back to work (on my feet) I started reverting to my pre-PT state.
When I saw the TV add for these it caught my attention, so I read a bunch of reviews, all saying how wonderful they are. I had to see for myself.
I went to a bunch of shoe stores in my area looking, and couldn’t find them anywhere…but I kept searching. I finally found a Sketchers outlet about an hour from home and called them up, they just got them in for the first time that day! I headed out, and limped (cane in hand) around the outlet mall trying to find the store; by the time I got there I thought my leg was going to fall off. They pulled my size out of the shipment box, they hadn’t even made it to the shelf yet. I, surprised at how small and cute they looked compared to the pics I’d seen online, popped them on and went into shock. I put my cane down and walked across the store – no problem. I even bounced a little. I walked back to my car with them on – no cane! I’m in heaven, the reduction of impact when you step is mind blowing. I can not believe how good they feel. Totally worth the $110 I spent.

Awesome Shoes!!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have worn these shoes everyday from the day they arrived. I noticed right away the difference in the way my body feels and my butt is starting to tone up. I am able to fit into jeans I have not worn since before I had my first child which was over 6 years ago. I am so glad I bought them. I am not beginning a walking routine with them, since before I was just wearing them as tennis shoes, now I am more motivated to go out and exercise more. Usually my knees would ache after walking a mile now I am just going along not feeling any thing but my muscles working. I will definitely purchase other kinds of Shape Up designs. Thanks!! A great buy from Amazon!

Great Fitness Shoes

I heard about these shoes on TV and I thought I would give them a try.
I love them for walking and doing errands. I wear them at least 5 hours a day.
I find the, very cushy and give me alot of support. I also find the back of my legs and butt are getting a great workout. I always feel these muscles at the end of the day. I am definitely going to buy another pair!

walking on air

These shoes make me feel like I’m walking on air. I’m flat footed and when I put them on, it looks like my feet are turned in but they have been very comfortable.

Fantastic

I love these shoes. I’ve had trouble with my feet for years and I was getting a bone spur on my heel but since I’ve been wearing these shoes, that has gone away. They were a little tricky at first because of the high arch support and I had to learn how to balance in them. Now that I’ve mastered that I wear them whenever I have a lot of walking to do. I highly recommend them.

Skechers shape ups

I’ve only had the shoes about two weeks and don’t wear them all the time, but I can tell you they are very comfortable. They feel a little unsteady at first until you get use to them. I haven’t had them long enough to say if they’ll help me get in better shape, but I can tell you they will definitely help your posture. Because of the rocking motion they do not let you slouch, which is great. I would definitely rec.
