The leg magic may be a bit expensive but it is a good product. I have had mine about a year and it is still in good shape. I don’t use the product on a regular basis but anyone can instantly feel the burn when you use the product. Good buy if you will actually use it.

Incredible device!!! WOW, this works like a charm! :-D

I am so happy that this exercise thing-a-ma-jig has made it to the market! It replaces something which I used to do for exercise in my hotel rooms, when I was still a flight attendant, trying to get a good, quick workout before meeting my crew in the lobby. I used to get a “crazy-carpet” that I’d roll up in my crew bag (a semi-stiff,slippery, glossy piece of plastic, used in the winter time for sliding down snowy hills, kind of like a sled) then I would put double socks on my running shoes, position the crazy-carpet onto a carpeted surface, place myself in the center of the plastic, then slide my legs towards the center, using my feet, without lifting them off the plastic. After hundreds of reps, you’d feel the burn…and it would definitely give you results…my legs looked svelt, my clothes were looser…the problem…I’d sweat so much, that the sweat would land on the plastic while I was sliding, causing the “gliding” motion to cease, and the plastic to bunch up! Crazy idea, but hey, I did it…lol.

The leg magic is the SAME MOVEMENT as what I did back then, only without the annoyance of sweating on the plastic, thereby making it foolproof, and assuring an effective workout. This is what I have been waiting for in a long, long time…and believe me, if it existed back then (in the 90′s) , I would have gotten one IN A HEARTBEAT! I have been using mine for almost a month now, and I can see my legs getting more and more svelt…a great workout, very efficient, not hard on the legs at all…just remember to bend the knees ever-so-slightly, and it will be your best friend! And stretch before and after your workout. It is so good, that I am planning on bringing it back to Europe with me!I love this leg magic thing!Dynamite device! :-D

    Not made for short people!
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Wow! I just tried this machine with the beginner workout and it was not easy. It was definitely not made for short people! It is hard to bring your legs back together from the “middle” positions, the pulsing is exhausting. I will keep trying it because I spent money on it! But it is not easy the first time at all. The lady on the video makes me sick, she never gets out of breath and makes it look like you’re taking a stroll in the park. Uh.

    WORKS….TAKES TIME! BE PATIENT~
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I used to work out at the gym on the expensive machine there and had excellent results after about 3 months. I don’t really like to go to the gym, so I decided this was the best inexpensive option for me. I know a lot of reviewers say they can only feel it in their inner thighs, but that is most likely because your inner thighs are your most out of shape part on your body at that time. I get on it for about 5 minutes a day at 30 second intervals. It is not time consuming at all. REMEMBER, this is not a cardio machine, so don’t think you have to do it for 30 minutes a day! I quick tip is to buy resistant bands for your legs from a sporting good store. They will work you outer thighs and luv handles, giving you more resistance and faster shaping!

I live in Santa Monica. And I usually run by the beach to get a good cardio work out. But sometimes I’m not in the mood to train outdoor so one day I decided to look for some cardio machine online and found this so inexpensive but amazing way to shred some body fat. I really love this machine! It really works great. In a couple of weeks I could totally see my legs getting thinner and sexy!! Thanks LEG MAGIC! Oh, and if you want some nutrition and fitness advice go check this site out http://www.mattsergottfitness.com There are some good articles about diet and new ideas on how to get fit.

I am 5 feet tall. I wish there was a way to adjust the machine so my short legs did not have to do the SPLIT> I have a hard time bringing them back together after I go to the side position. It is almost painful, but I am going to try to keep doing it.

I’m reading the reviews to help me diced if this is a right perches I am concerned with the actual movement , I believe any movement that your body dose naturally is accurate to be done in exercise like legs going forward backward, plunges, this is all associated with walking, but sliding your legs sideways, & ding it AT THE SAME TIME, your body can’t do that on its own, so it’s not safe, I definitely think it well cause stress on the knees spatially the inner part of the knee, it could cause knee problems in the future.

    Uncomfortable
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I’ve been a fitness trainer for years, so I was excited to try this new product.

This stretched my legs in a way that was very uncomfortable. Also, when you slide your legs back to a closed position, it puts unnecessary pressure on the lower-back–unsafe and very unhealthy, so, I returned it immediately.

I have used a lot of exercise/fitness machines and I’d say this is by far the worst one yet.

If you’re looking for a cardio/leg workout, I’d say try an elliptical machine and go for a brand you know and trust, maybe Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer or ProForm StrideSelect 825 Elliptical Trainer or use free weights with a trainer DVD like Gilad: Ultimate Body Sculpt Series – Cuts & Curves or bike or do leg presses (I like to do all these and leg adductor and abductors) and of course, diet, have a good diet… lots of water, vegetables… oh, I’m sounding like the personal trainer I am :) good luck!

LEG MAGIC IS A WASTE OF MONEY!
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this thing years ago and have hardly ever used it. I watched the infomercial and it looked ok. I studied online before buying and saw a few complaints about it hurting people’s knees. I thought it might, but I figured I would send it back if it did. Well, sending it back was not cost effective, so I still have it. Plus, I read many complaints about customer service and didn’t want to get into a hassle.

This machine puts stress on the knee joints and on the hip joints. it is pretty painful and very awkward to use. It also only works a small part of the upper inner thigh and it is also a painful exercise. If you don’t mind pain and you have very good joints and/or plan on getting hip replacements one day, I’d say it is the machine for you! It can also be used as a practical joke present. Buy them for people you don’t like that much and rave about how you use it every day and how much weight and inches you have lost.

Great value for machine, targets thigh areas
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was skeptical about purchasing this item but decided to read online reviews and went ahead and bought it. My problem areas are inner and outer thighs. I no longer belong to a gym, so I usually do video pilates twice a week, and every now and then I do recreational swimming, neither of which have toned my problem areas. (I am really not that athletic, so beginners, don’t worry!)

I have been using this machine for about a week and I have already noticed a difference in my inner thigh area. I would recommend starting off slowly (I haven’t watched the DVD)and building up to something that is challenging for you. I started at 100 reps/day and by my third day I did 150/day (all were done at about 25 rep increments). The trick as with any routine is to stretch before and after!!

Definitely recommend for anyone who is the slightest bit flexible and don’t worry about your height being a barrier, because I’m 5′ tall and it works fine for me (adjustable front handle). Worth the value, stores well and is very easy to use. Quality is good, but not excellent, but what can you expect with a machine under $100?

  13. A Researcher on Sun, 24th Jan 2010 5:21 pm

    Great supplement workout
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My thighs are my problem area and I bought this machine because it specifically targets those areas. I think of the Leg Magic as doing something similar to what crunches do for my abs – firming and toning. Just like I wouldn’t expect to lose weight by only doing crunches, I didn’t really expect to lose weight doing the Leg Magic, but I wanted to tone an area that doesn’t really get worked out much. I do cardio workouts most days per week, but usually running, stair-climbing, or the eliptical, which all work the fronts and backs of your legs but not the sides. This machine is a perfect supplement for your other exercises because it gets at those areas which most other exercises miss, and some people do seem to lose weight from doing it (more power to you!). I don’t do the DVD (because it works muscle groups that I feel I work out in other ways), but I do 1000 reps almost every day – 500 inner thigh reps and 500 outer thigh reps. I just do 5 sets of 100 for each. I don’t do them straight though; usually on commercial breaks or something. I found that the inner thigh workout was really good – challenging but not overwhelming. I didn’t find the outer thigh workout as challenging, so I bought a resistance band and tie it around my ankles when I do it, which really adds some resistance and makes the exercise more effective. I’ve only had the Leg Magic for three weeks and I already notice a big difference in the toneness of my legs and I’ve lost over an inch on each thigh. Overall, I’m really happy I purchased it because it is really effective for specific areas. I would be much less likely to recommend it if someone was going to only use this as their main source of exercise, but if you just want to supplement your workout or if you’re happy just getting specific areas worked, than this would be good for you. I’m extremely happy with my results so far and I hope to see more in future. Just make sure to use it regularly (having it out at all times serves as a good reminder) and make sure to use correct form so that you don’t hurt your knees.

    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The reviews I read said this was an easy assembly. Maybe I got the lemon, but the screw holes did not line up, so I had to force it and make my own. It feels unstable when I use it, and I’m thinking that I got what I paid for. Probably won’t be a part of my daily workout.

    Well worth the money!!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I can’t believe I am saying this… this product actually works!!! And it works wonders! I have only been using it a week and already am seeing results. I did the video every other day and tried doing it as much as I could on my days off during the commercials on t.v. It’s harder than it looks! Sixty-second bursts aren’t something you can typically do on day one, let alone longer than that. The video can be challenging but I just take breaks in between. I certainly can’t do the full length video yet! Not only does the leg magic tone your thighs and butt, it strengthens your core too. You have to stand up straight to keep your balance and hold your abs in strengthening your core muscles, and thats definitely a plus! I would recommend this product to everyone because it really does work!

  19. Ms Snarky on Mon, 25th Jan 2010 6:36 am

    Very effective for targeted areas.
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Okay, let me just say that this has by no means transformed my body..but it does do what it claims, how well depends on just how much you use it..what a concept!

First, the assembly. Speaking as someone who is shall we say NOT proficient when it comes to putting things together, this was not bad at all..if you have the picture in front of you and follow the straightforward instructions. The Leg Magic sits in my dining room permanently and does not take up much space. It can also be easily folded up an moved into a closet.

Back in the days when I actually used to work out (before I worked a 60 hour a week job), I would have scoffed at “As seen on TV” exercise equipment. Now, here I am, older and out of shape, Ill try anything where I have a chance of some benefit (with minimal effort of course). This appealed because, my lower body needs help..and it was cheaper than a treadmill. I have yet to make a committment to a rigorous workout routine, but I do manage to get on the Leg Magic for at least a 2 minute (timed) “session” each day. At the end of it my muscles ache and I swear that Im going to start doing it twice a day…and I will evetually.

My point is, even with just this short burst each day, I do feel a difference. Though I’m at a reasonable weight for my height and age..gravity is taking hold in many areas, especially in the rear and upper legs..now inner thighs are looking a little different..and my legs look different in shorts. Like anything, your results depend largely on what you put into it. That said however, this machine does provide great return on investment for the amount effort involved..particularly for that inner thigh area to above the knee. In my opinion if I were willing to put in even 5 or 10 minutes a day broken into say 3 or 4 sessions (which I will eventually!), it will make even more of a difference in a relatively short period of time.

P.S. Workout DVDs annoy me, so I dont bother with them even if they do come with equipment so cant review that piece

NOT FOR PERSONS UNDER 5 ‘ TALL!!!!
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I recently purchased the Leg Magic with great anticipation for a good workout. Putting the machine together was simple and easy. Of course I expected it to be harder than it looked on television, most things are, HOWEVER, I really think that there should be a statement to include the following.. The total span of the glide is 36″ or 18″ on each side. Persons under the height of 5′ may have difficulty using this product! I am only 56″ tall, once I get on the Leg Magic, my legs are spread 36 inches which makes it nearly impossible to do one or two reps which means about 4 seconds of your time~ having to do exactly what the video says not to do, which is to lean into and or hold tight to the hand bar..It’s impossible NOT TO..It takes your entire body to move the glide rather than just leg action. I am not a doctor or scientist, but I will bet one who reads this could explain this in more technical terms but in honesty this machine is not for those Vertically Impaired!! SO although I believe this is a great idea, and a great concept, I think it unfair to let the consumer assume that it is suitable for people of all sizes. I contacted customer service at Leg Magic, and received a very prompt response telling me maybe I am using the machine to often and over exercising.Guess they didn’t read my fine print!

It hurts doing excersing on this thing but it was worth it. It works muscles in my legs that I had trouble with. I can only do a few leg movements at a time b/c it begins to tire my tighs out but now I can stay on it longer. I usually put a book or something under the 3 black stomps and that makes for a better work out. Sometimes I hold a wieght and lift myself with only my legs. Its a pretty good buy.

    What A Great Workout
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I just love it! It gives a great work out on your thighs. Rosalie Brown really knows how to work your entire body. I don’t know why people complained that it only works your inner thighs. With me I could feel the work on both inner and outer thighs. If you follow the DVD and really do the exercises the way Rosalie does it, you will definitely feel the burn on your thighs. The key to a good exercise with good results is to do it right. If you feel tired, shaky and out of breath just stop and try again tomorrow. Give it time to build up strength and you will be surprised of how much more you can do the next day. For example if you start jogging, the first day may you will be able to run for a half a mile. However, you will be surprised that the next day, after half a mile your muscles and body feel the need for a little bit more, and you will do it because you will now have the resistance to push a little bit further. In my opinion persistence and exercising correctly will give you great results with Leg Magic.

    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The Leg Magic Machine is an amazing inner thigh work out – I really think it’s a bit of a cardio workout also as you will be breathing hard quick! It definitely strengthens your inner thighs like crazy – and it’s SO easy to just hop on & do a quick workout, you’ll be inclined to use it with just a pinch of intention. it’s seems just OK at best for the outer thigh and you can get a buttocks workout if you work it. It’s FAR FROM a complete workout, but what it’s good at – it is great at.

First off, you can forget about keeping up with the instructor on the DVD that comes with this device. The workout is 13 minutes, 5 of which is on the Leg Magic, but you’re not putting in no 5 minutes on this thing! It’s shock treatment for the inner thighs. I highly recommend it, but I’m not buying the other claims the manufacturer makes about it working the outer thighs and butt. You work your butt on the floor with the instructor in the video, not on the leg magic. The only part of my body I feel on the machine working is my inner thighs. For that, it is over the top and a must have in your home workout plan. The other exercises on the floor round out the program and is quite challenging. You will get stronger and eventually be able to do the whole 13 minutes if you stick with it. I can do so much more on it now than I could at first. Like 5 minutes total, with half on the machine, so I’m getting stronger. On day one, I couldn’t even pull off 30 seconds on it. If you love a challenge and really want to see a change in your body and strength, you won’t regret buying this machine, but if you’re not, then it won’t get used, because it’s tough!

But I love this thing! It is very practical and fun as well! I have it in my living room in my apartment and it does not take an enormous space! Highly recommended!

I love this machine…I have purchased many pieces of fitness equip. over the years – most are used for drying laundry.

I noticed some concern with short people – I do think the manufacterer should consider an additional setting to put the handle lower. I am 5 ft. 3 in. and I just make it – best with sneakers on.

Over all – you see results fast. Easy to jump on for a few minutes in the am and again before bedtime. I can handle that since I am always on the run and have a hard time putting in an hour exercise tape – or even a 30 min. one. If your problem is inner and outer thighs – this is your ticket. Thanks to everyone who writes a review. It’s because of you I tried it.

Excellent low impact cardio + leg workout
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have not been in shape for quite some time, but having once run marathons and been in top physical form, I was yearning for a way to get back in the swing without jarring my knees and feet with jogging, running or jumping rope. I spotted a print ad for this machine in a local retailer’s catalog, and immediately was drawn to the way it gently and without harsh impact, works your thighs, butt and legs. I have several herniated discs, suffer from double plantars fasciitis, and degenerating knee cartilage, so I was not about to invest in a machine that would keep me in pain from Day One. This is no such machine. In fact, I was able to keep up a pretty steady routine from the first week, provided I warmed up first, as the instruction manual states. It stores nicely in the corner, is not too heavy, and is sleek and attractive, even if you have a small space in which to keep it. I have not experienced any excessive pain in my back or feet, so the motion is not negatively impacting my health conditions. I work up a good sweat within minutes, so the cardio benefit is excellent. I am totally happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone who wants a good aerobic workout and lower body exercise machine for their home. The instructional DVD is to the point, no fancy flipping acrobatics, and very easy to follow. Also includes diet and nutrition guideline booklet. Well worth the investment.

    Intense Workout!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Let me start by saying this, I’m no newbie to exercise – I work out several days a week and I still found this to be very challenging! This machine does a great job of reaching that elusive inner-thigh area. I can only use this for a few minutes at a time, but I still feel the burn in my thighs the next day. Also, because you need to stablize your upper body, you also get the added bonus of an ab workout.

I don’t think you get much of an outer-thigh workout as you do inner-thigh, so I would recommend incorporating a resistance band with the exercises or bending your knees to work your inner-thigh as well.

    This works great-if you’re 5’3″ or taller
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I really like this machine-another reviewer said it was flimsey but I totally disagree. At least the one I received is high quality and easy to assemble-no hidden problems putting it together, and it had very few parts to assemble which all came in the package. I can really feel it working-I already am in good physical condition, but this seems to be targeting inner thighs and buttocks even better and very quickly. I do agree with another reviewer that the machine probably is not good for a person who is under 63 inches tall. I am 5’4″ and it is a slight stretch for me, but not uncomfortable. I think anyone under 5’3″ would have a difficult time-unless you have very long legs and a short torso. I love it!

I’m an owner of a Leg Magic exercise machine. This machine is a complete WASTE OF MONEY! It puts unnecessary pressure on the inner side of your knee and back. You might ended up paying more money for a visit to the physiotherapist. Go the traditional way.. hop on the bike or go for a walk/run. Most things will be better than the leg magic.

I used it for a little while the first time and by morning I was sore in muscles I never knew existed.

    Frustrating
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Putting this thing together was absolutely frustrating. A piece that was supposed to “slide on” had to be hit hard repeatedly, then the screw to hold it in place wouldn’t even go in all the way. After removing the piece and trying straight screw-to-metal, it still ended up jammed. On another end, a big plastic piece that was supposed to have a hole to put a screw through DIDN’T have the hole, and I had to create my own. The handlebar is wobbly as hell, and the workout video is useless since most of the work is done off the machine – gee, who didn’t know lunges and squats are great for your legs? That’s not what I bought the machine to learn. So it’s basically one exercise – sliding your legs back and forth. Does it give your legs a nice burn? Sure does. But the product overall just didn’t live up to the hype for me.

I bought this because of limited living space for exercise equipment and I have just awful legs. I’ve been slowly progressing every other day with the exercises on the DVD and it definitely is having a positive effect on my behind and legs. It will take awhile for me to really see a big improvement in my lower body, but that’s the way exercise is.

I highly recommend this little machine and hopefully within a few months, I won’t be so set on wearing long skirts and pants so that no one has to look at my legs. It’s very easy to assemble and fold for storage when not in use, so I really like that! But I strongly believe that you need to take it slowly, take your time with the exercises and do them as instructed on the video.

    Pretty sweet little machine

This is actually a really good machine for the price (assuming you buy it here on Amazon, and not from the official site where it costs more than twice as much).

It doesn’t take the place of a cardio machine, so you won’t be doing 45 minutes on it, like with a treadmill, stepper or elliptical machine. But that’s because you feel it, immensely, after only a minute or two.

There’s not a lot of variation — you can work the full range of motion, or just concentrate on the inner or outer portion of the full stride, which works your inner or outer thigh respectively. You can also hold on to the handles or use your arms for curls, and change up the pacing… and that’s about it. However, the video with Rosalie Brown is surprisingly fun and varied, as she does sequences of one minute on the machine, one minute off, and uses a slightly different machine exercise each time.

I hop on it for a minute or so every time I go by, and when I need to store it or move it out of the way, it’s actually quick and easy to do, unlike many machines.

The biggest drawback is it has a tendency to clunk at the end of each stride; to use it properly, however, you need to control the movement so it doesn’t bang.

Also, I don’t really use the computer with the stride counter, because it only registers when you hit the inner portion of the stride, meaning an outer-thigh workout doesn’t get counted at all.

But all in all, a good purchase.

    Not what I expected!

Ok I researched this item for a long time before actually buying it. I finally broke down and bought one from Target. I brought it home and put it together, which was easy. I got on and thought it was pretty cool and easy to use. I noticed though after a few times that it was only working my inner thighs. I go to the gym all the time and I thought this would be an added benefit for me but it wasn’t worth the money. I needed something to tone my butt not just my inner thighs. I ended up taking it back to the store and getting my money back. You can do most of the exercises without it. In fact the DVD does things that don’t include the leg magic at all. Better off doing good ol fashioned floor exercises! I’m so happy I took mine back!

    Feel the burn!!!
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I got this product at Walmart, not on Amazon, so I can’t tell about shipping. But it was easy to put together. I got it yesterday and my inner thighs can feel the burn today. If you do small reps toward the outside of the machine without hitting the bumpers you will work your outer thighs more. I like the idea of a couple other commenters of using resistance bands for the outer thighs. It is not a cardio machine (unless you’re in super shape, maybe.) I really think this is going to improve the look of my legs, if I stick to it and gradually add more time/reps on it. It was only $77.oo + tax at WallyWorld. And it seems to be well made. So we’ll see…

Ouch for the work out-Grrr for the set up!
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this product (I couldn’t help it!). I know it isn’t magic-there are other ways to work your lower body without spending so much money, however,I don’t like the other ways-that’s how this purchase came about. It does feel effective for the inner thigh area. I’ve read reviews stating the inner thigh is the only area worked. I disagree-if you become as Rosalie Brown states “advanced” you’re doing this motion without holding the handle bars-and if you’re really up for the challenge you’re doing arm exercise while doing the leg magic moves. I felt my lower abs activate when I let go of the handle bars. Did I feel it in my behind? No-but that doesn’t mean anything-I have a total gym 1100 and I do total body moves and feel nothing-then the next day my body is screaming.

I took away one star because when I assembled leg magic I pinched the wire accidently trying to get the handle bar adjusted(that’s my fault, I know)-it just won’t go all the way in-it’s stuck. Since I’m so tall that may be a good thing-but honestly-it seems my handle’s just weird because I don’t see any reviews stating such a problem. Anyhow, because the wires are pinched the little moniter won’t work correctly. For the price, such situations should be non-exsistent! I could return it and get another one-but it’s too much of a hassle. Besides, the machine works-I did a few reps-OUCH. I “feel the burn”. I recommend leg magic-but only as a supplement-no work out machine will make you into a super star-diet and cardio are still important. Was is worth $77? Well nothing I’ve ever bought was realy ever “worth” the amount it cost-but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a excellent tool for working out.

In short, I say OUCH for the work out, and grrrr for the set up! But it honestly does work!

I like it! Not as easy as it looks though……

I purchased the Leg Magic yesterday, worked out to the video yesterday and yikes!this thing is not as easy as it looks. I am optimistic I will see results if I follow the video instructions along with strength training and cardio workouts – the video is great and is in a circuit training format for the lower body in 60 second increments, some ab work and upper body included. My inner thighs are sore today without a doubt. Gives you a cardio workout too. I like it, this is the first exercise equipment I’ve purchased after seeing an infomercial.

Also, the nutrition guide that is included is great, gives you options/ideas of what to eat, and the plus is you don’t have to cook anything other than meals such as eggs or oatmeal or if you follow one of the dinner options (steak, chicken),but you don’t have to follow a cookbook to whip up a good meal.

    My Leg Magic experiment

Hey friends! I recently purchased the Leg Magic after noticing that my legs looked hideous after the long winter. Very unfortunate. I’ve written a thorough and humerous review for your enjoyment. Please read before buying this product! [...]

An exercise machine that actually works!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this little piece of equipment thinking that eventually it would be piled up in the spare room with the other workout junk. I am pleased to say that it is front and center in the living room right beside the couch. It is too hard for me to do a 20 min workout on so I make myself burn 10 calories every commercial break. You would be surprised at how fast the calories all add up. I love this product because it actually works!

    Harder then it looks!!

Its very hard. I can only do it for about 30 seconds at a time. There has to be an easier way!
